Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.
A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
